HOW DOES GLUCOSE CONVERT INTO FAT🤔

Image
Fat generally doesn't get converted to fat but glucose does!!!!!        Dive in to know how🙃          Firstly, sugar doesn't get directly an immediately converted into fat. There's a process called Lipogenesis        Excess sugar adds in calories and increases certain hormones that can lead to overeating and this cause fat storage.  WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU EAT SUGAR Whenever you eat sugar and carbs like bread 🍞🥖 or 🍝pasta                                                              ⬇️ Our body breaks them down into glucose molecules (main type of sugar, in the blood stream) as a part of the digestion process                               ⬇️ In response, insulin gets released by pancreas , enters blood stream and then moves glucose molecules from your blood into your cells where it acts like your body's main source of energy⚡                               ⬇️ Glucose that is not immediately used is stored a glycogen   in your 💪muscles and liver.  ( Think of glycogen as

PREFINAL EXAMINATION OSCE LEARNING POINTS

Was a quite interesting case which I saw in the recent times.               Different diagnosis were considered for it like   Tetanus   Focal seizures   Drug induced dystonia     Now my learning points were:     - With so many differentials in mind, how to land up in a particular diagnosis    - Why drugs cause dystonia in a few and doesn't in the other?        Let's dig deep to know how🙂 Focal dystonia Focal dystonia is limited to one area of the body and can affect the neck (cervical dystonia or spasmodic torticollis), eyes (blepharospasm), jaw/mouth/lower face (oromandibular dystonia), vocal cords (laryngeal dystonia) or arms/legs (limb dystonia). Other less common types of focal dystonias can cause unusual stretching, bending or twisting of the trunk (truncal dystonia) or sustained contractions and involuntary, writhing movements of the abdominal wall (abdominal wall dystonia). Symptoms Dystonia affects different peop

Here we discuss our individual patient's problems through series of inputs from available global online community of experts with an aim to solve those patient's clinical problems with collective current best evidence based inputs.  Note : This is an on-going case and will be updated as and when I receive any information.  30 YR OLD FEMALE WITH NECK EXTENSION SINCE 5 DAYS Chief complaints: Involuntary neck extension to left side since 5 days History of presenting illness: •Patient was apparently asymptomatic 7 days back, then she developed sudden guiddiness, sudden in onset , aggrevated in supine position or while doing any work, relieved on rest.  •So the couple visited a local hospit
